To have the most accurate work hours in our template projects, we analyze the actual time spent per resource on the real tasks in the process during last year. We then use this data to populate the work hours in the template projects for each resource accordingly.
We need a column added to the Task Assignment Report so it displays the average of the actual time spent on a set of tasks that have the same name, like this: (note we are using only one user in this instance)
Then, we need that average rounded up to the nearest 5-minute decimal. So from 0.21 to 0.25 in my example.
The report needs to be able to group by task prefix, so we can get all the like-tasks together, even if they have different topics.
We call this process "actuals analysis" and right now, to get these results, we have to run the report in PI, export it to Excel, and manually perform the =AVG function on EVERY set of task data...which takes a very long time...and raises the likelihood of human error.
If we could automate this crunching of numbers in the PI report itself, it'd really be a dream come true.
Is this something PI can do? I'm happy to Zoom or screen-share to help explain what we are needing if that helps.
